1974 — Candidate of Philology; title of candidate thesis: “The relatively independent development of literature”;

1980 – Head of the Department of theory of literature, Kemerovo State University

1989 – Head of the Department of theory of literature, Novosibirsk State Technical University

1990 — Doctor of Philology; title of doctoral thesis: “Imagery of literary works”;1995 — senior research worker, Department of Literature Studies, Institute of Philology, Siberian branch, RAS;

1999 — Head of the Department of Theoretical and Historical Poetics, Faculty of History and Philology, Institute of Philology and History, Russian State University for the Humanities.
